S E E K E E L E E

... is Him.

I wouldn't say I have no idea how I survived the past few months with the crazy schedule at work and in church but I know that the strength came from my God. We've been working on the album since February this year and finally launched it on 29th Aug during my church's 50th Anniversary. I'd say the support we've got was simply amazing!

The entire journey of recording this album has strengthened my faith in the reality of Christ... It has pushed me beyond what I 'think' I can do and cannot do, especially in song writing and singing. Recording this album has showed me that God uses the weak too. 5 of us had no experiences nor a have we attended any lessons but the album turned out nice and I give all glory to God!

The journey of recording the album was so wonderful because God revealed Himself so many times.
The album cover design was submitted to me by Mr Liang, Joanne who never saw it also showed me and the designs both bring the same meaning. How awesome is that? There were many more incidences where we knew very clearly that it was God who spoke.

There were also times when we forget to pray before we start recording and the music recorded that particular night went to waste coz it just didn't sound good no matter how many times we've tried to record. This reminds me that committing everything to God before we do anything is the utmost important thing. We learned our lesson and from that day on, we never missed praying.

Just last week when we were practicing in SAND band, God spoke and both Sean and I were very encouraged. It was said that the song we wrote (Freedom) will be sung by many youths and will be used in many churches. It will be 'the' song for this season. I am in awe. Never have I ever thought that a song written by a group of inexperienced people could touch so many hearts. This shows clearly that it is not how good of a composer you are, but whether how anointed the song is. I am so humbled and grateful that God chose us.

So this is how the album looks like, it has 7 songs, all written and produced by 5 of us with God's grace.

The album is for sale at RM30. For enquiries, email worship.rgbc@gmail.com.

Today is, surprisingly, few of the days where I actually FEEEEL loved. Loved by a super awesome Almighty God, loved by my parents, loved by my partner and loved by my friends and colleagues. I am reminded about this nice feeling because of very simple things that happened throughout these months, weeks and days. I've not been in the best attitude and mood but people around me still chose to love me, chose to forgive me. That's really the best feeling ever!

So this post, I would really want to dedicate to the people whom I hold dearly to my heart... Just to say THANK YOU!

First, I thank God. I thank Him for giving me life. I thank Him for the boundless opportunities that He has given to me and for the unending blessings and answered prayers. I've shared this before about my grandmother in my previous post, you can have a look here. Her condition went from bad to worse, then to amazingly good! I know and I know that it is God. I can never be wrong about this.

Grandma was diagnosed with diabetes and few other sicknesses including malfunction of some organs (not sure which organs) and her health deteriorated very quickly. My mum took care of her for a few months at home but her condition worsened. She was in and out of the hospital, she was even isolated because of the bacteria that was in her body.  Everything went downhill and we had to send her to a nursing home because she couldn't eat anymore and needed to be fed every 4 hours through a tube. In the nursing home, she developed bed sores. I never knew how horrible bed sores are until I saw it with my own eyes. It is like HUGE mouth ulcers on your skin and it can cause you to bleed. So my grandma had a few bed sores and because she couldn't move much, it got worse. One day, she had a fever and she pulled out the feeding tube and to cut the long story short, she was again sent to the hospital. She stayed there for 11 nights. Few of the evenings I helped her change diapers and just accompany her. She wasn't very chatty at all ever since she got sick. She couldn't walk or make big movements anymore.

My family members started praying and started to ask their Cell groups to pray. So people from different churches were actually praying for her. I occasionally shared about it when I am in my weekly Life Group and they prayed too. I never gave up praying coz I believe that God will heal and that He will use this situation to open doors for my parents to come to know Him.

Just 3 weeks ago, it was the Raya holidays and we decided to visit my grandma as a family. My uncles & aunties were there too. We saw how grandma's condition improve tremendously. last month, her feeding tube was removed and she could slowly eat. She's also going through physio therapy to help her move. She could make big movements now. She's also become very chatty and witty just like ol' times. So that afternoon, when the nurse placed a huge plate of solid food in front of her, I thought they were gonna feed her. But to my surprise, she picked up the spoon and she ate. SHE ATE!! HALLELUJAH! HAHA! I was sooooo happy and grateful to see that scene! I almost teared. And just a few days later, my mum sent us a video of her sewing a pair of pants. OH MY GOSH!! Seeing her improve this much is somehow unbelievable. She couldn't grip a pen few months back and now she's sitting up, looking fresh and SEWING.

Now, tell me it's not God.

Second, I wanna thank my parents. I thank them for treating me like a big princess. For always making sure I have my dinner... And sometimes my breakfast... And Fruits. Thankful for my mum for picking up my clothes from the laundry basket, wash them, hang them, fold them and deliver them to my room and my dad for being the most patient person I have ever ever met...

Third, I wanna thank my wonderful boyfriend, Sean. Not as patient as my dad but he's getting there. I've started to have this PMS attack where it totally destroys my jovial self, every single time (month). And I would go really unreasonable especially towards him. But he takes it all in every month. Besides that, I thank him for loving me. For forgiving me whenever I did something crazy and made him mad. And for always being the sacrificial one. He would always give me whatever I like (for example, if his meal had prawns, he'd give them to me.) I thank him for being so gifted and talented in music and his willingness to serve in church week in week out and for having a big big heart for the church..

See guys, you should kill me if you ever catch me complaining about my life.

And lastly, I thank YOU for taking the time to read this ah ma's blog. :)

So last night after Badminton with my colleagues, we went to night market. It was PACKED. As we were walking and looking for food, I suddenly saw... freshly baked Butter Cake.. I want so badly but didn't get them I don't know why. And after we had dinner, we walked a while more and stumbled upon a stall which sells like 20 flavours of cake. I sort of lined up to buy the Butter Cake but in the end didn't buy coz there was this aunty. Real aunty. She just kept pushing and pushing until I'm out of the line >:/ I got frustrated and left.
Today at dinner someone walked up to my table and was selling butter cakes. I really wanted to buy but the bf said it looked digusting so I just kept quiet... Then I came home from music practice... I walked to the kitchen and I saw this mysterious box in a tied up plastic bag. Being the tam chiak (greedy) me, I opened up box and to my surprise, I SAW BUTTERRRRR CAKES!!!! OMG!!!! God knows my every desire. Even as simple as butter cakes! And I thank my mum too! She's amazinggg!

Hello there! So I just changed my blog title to something that I believe in. I believe that I am living a good life. I have everything I need, what is there to complain about? Really. Life couldn't be better. But at work today, I felt a lot more demotivated than previous weeks. Many things happened the past month and most of them are quite negative, I'd say. I especially cannot tolerate seeing my fellow colleague being bullied. And this made me think twice about staying. I used to look forward to work everyday. And I really enjoy the things I do here. I bet it's really difficult to find this kinda employee anymore. That's me!

To take this joy of working from me hor, really requires a lot of annoyance one and I think it's gonna reach my limit real soon. I never wanted to blog about this because I have always believed in sharing the positive and I wanted to keep this low key coz not good la talk bad about my work place which I love so much. But really, I gotta let people know that everyone struggles in a way or another. THIS WORK STRESS THING IS REAL!!!

So now I want to remind myself and others, to keep these words in mind... "I am blessed, I am favoured."

Just thought of keeping this blog alive earlier in the morning. I know I haven't posted anything on how last year ended for me. Well, here it is!

I'd say 2014 was fantastic! To sum up how my year went, I'd say it was a year of many many many answered prayers, sometimes they weren't even prayers but mere thoughts/desires that I did not ask God for. I am just beyond blessed! I had one of the best Birthday celebration in my life, I joined a band that I've always wished since young, I got promoted at work (to the position that I wanted), got nominated as staff of the quarter, won a 'pink' competition at work, perform at staff party, wore red lipstick (HAHAHA), got into an accident (was not hurt) that caused me to make police report on my own, co-wrote and recorded a song and many more. Most wonderful was God keeping my grandma safe. Still praying for healing for her. If you will, pray with me!

Thank you, Lord for remembering me all the time! I think it's very important to focus on the positive things in life rather than the negative. Although sometimes the bad stuff happens for us to learn, but if I were to dwell on the misfortunate events I wouldn't be so happy and thankful now!

After Christmas, I was able to make the KL trip possible with my 2 beloved! So glad that they were very accommodating to my requests. So we left Penang early in the morning. Checked in to De Uptown Damansara Hotel. I’d say, for the price we paid, the hotel is not bad at all! Also, it is located in the middle of most of the places we planned to go. After we’ve checked in, the rest of the day was just shopping, makan, shopping, makan. Actually I intend to write more about food in this post so bear with me yah! And you might probably get some heads up when you plan to go KL, with somewhat tight budget. Hehe!

Day 1 Lunch
Went to Village Park for their famous Nasi Lemak. RM9.00 for a plate of scrumptious fatness. Haha! On the plate, we have a huge piece of fried chicken thigh, sambal with ikan bilis, half of a hardboiled egg and few slices of cucumber. I personally think the nasi lemak is okay. But Sean loves it and would rave about it non-stop.

Day 1 Dinner
Our dinner was at Uncle Jang’s at Solaris. We knew about this place from the last trip we went. Wasn’t able to try as they were out of chicken meat -.- So we know we have to try this time!
I don’t remember the prices but we ordered a normal dak-galbi for 3 and added 2 ramen and 1 mushroom, more than enough for 3 persons. However, we were able to finish the whole thing. My rating for this is 5/5. I loved it! I love how when everything combines, the taste is just indescribably good! And I after I came back from KL, I found out that there’s a similar restaurant in Penang too, which I WILL GO SOON!

The second day was a Sunday and how can one miss church? This could be my first Sunday Service in KL. We picked DUMC. Every time when I go to churches in KL (the larger ones) my eyes sure O.O! Mainly because the building is major huge compared to ours in Penang, and also because of the servant hearts of the church. We saw many parking attendants along the road, and I once heard that some of them are big shots in their workplaces. I am so humbled to see that! We need more willing and serving people like them in our churches. So after the service, I bumped into a dear friend whom I have not seen for 8 years. And of course, we talked and laughed like how we used to in school. The feeling was nice and warm… hahaha!

After that we went to Ikea. Ok now back to food:

Day 2 Lunch
I can never go to Ikea and not be tempted by their food. NEVER. We ordered, chicken wings, beef meatballs, cold shrimp salad, fish & chips, Salmon. Yes, A LOT for 3 persons. Everything was good except Salmon.

Ok I side track a bit here. Every time I go Ikea, I can only buy small stuff like, Idk, straws? Dustbins? Photo frames? And I have always wanted to look at them furniture with hope that I can bring them back with me. I have always loved decorating a house (or my room for now). And now that I can at least afford a dressing table, I found one that is super suitable to double up as a work space and dressing table. I got so excited and took with me table lamp and pretty table rag to go with my table. To my utter disappointment, the table that I wanted to get was out of stock!! Well, I believe everything happens for a reason. So ya la I am still surviving without that table what. :D
Alright now back to dinner, after we walked super long at Ikea and another mall we went to:

Day 2 Dinner
To Boat Noodles we go!! Ok this one even if the noodles were soooo good, I’d still won’t bother to give a high ranking. Why? Coz they made us wait for ONE HOUR! One hour you know! And I was so hungry and grumpy!! Went in, ordered 10 bowls. 1 bowl is about 3 mouths?  So we ordered half spicy and half non-spicy. Then to me, they were enough but not for Sean and Serene. They wanted more and said that the spicy one was nicer and ordered 10 extra bowls. HAHAHA! In the end, either we ordered wrongly or they sent wrongly, IT WASN’T THE FLAVOUR WE WANTED! Haha but still we managed to finish. One thing that I like about the place was the drinks. They looked a bit scary coz they were colourful but the taste was (y) superb! And partly why I didn’t find the noodles nice was because they had cilantro in it.. I don’t like the smell…. And I also mentioned that my 2 beloved were really accommodating, Serene gave me the meatballs in her bowl so I can enjoy more.. Aiyo.. how can I be so loved??

Day 3 Breakfast
Aunty Sim Wan Tan Mee was our pick. Sean and I went there in our previous KL trip and find that they have the best Wan Than Mee we’ve tasted! I personally don’t really like wan tan mee but this one was da BOMB! I rate 5/5! And to add wan tan with soup, you only need to add 30 cents! What deal is this?!

Day 3 Lunch
We weren’t really hungry so we had sushi from the sushi bar. And I have no comments coz sushi is sushi. Haha!

Day 3 Dinner
Now now now. This is one dinner I HAVE to rave about. We were going back already and decided to have dinner at Ipoh. I say Ipoh you say? TAU GEH CHICKEN! This is the first time I tasted Ipoh’s tau geh (bean sprout)chicken rice. Gosh. ONE WORD. DELICIOUS! We ordered whole chicken and I had koay teow instead of rice. We also ordered a bowl of pork meat balls. The soup was good. Meatballs were great. Chicken was divine. Love every bit of it! We went to OnnKee. I know Lou Wong is more famous and widely publicised, however, according to the feedback from our friends, Onn Kee’s food tastes better. 5/5 AGAIN!

It's me and Mr, Wong

My Christmas gift from Mr. Wong :)

And here's how I spent the last day of 2014:

So that trip was the high point of how I ended year 2014. God is forever good!

Hi, 2015! Not gonna ask you to be good to me, but I’m telling you that you ARE gonna be good to me. Not only to me but to my family and loved ones as well! Bring on challenges that will build me, shape me!

I welcome you… (err I’m a bit too late isn’t it? It’s already 22 days of 2015 already hahaha!)

Thank you for reading!

It was like a normal day at work today, actually it was more fun than usual because I was putting up a 'wish' tree which is exactly a Christmas tree. So the whole morning I was at the lobby and setting up the tree. Suddenly, one of my colleagues (there were a few of them there) who were looking at us from afar called my name. As I turned, he said "Sheryn! Sam wanna talk to you." and I asked what is it about and he then said "Sam asked why the hell are you so fat?" and then they laughed. The person who called me was David. And trust me, I don't even know them well at all. I have been working here for about 1 year plus now and the amount of words exchanged can actually be counted. The point is if my bff were to say that to me, I don't mind. If my bf were to say that to me, I actually don't mind. BUT it was them who were almost strangers, whom I don't even talk to who said such hurtful and insensitive words. They thought it was funny. Well no. It wasn't.

I then stared at them and I was speechless. I let the words ring in my head. I let the emotions swing like madness. I held it in. I went back to the office once the tree was done. Then I sat at my desk feeling like crap. I needed to let out. I really needed to cry. And I couldn't hold back anymore. So I went to the toilet and released like 2 gallons of tears. I was texting my colleague coz she witnessed the whole thing. She then said that she needed to tell our boss as this is justice. And it WAS NOT RIGHT for them to do that at all. So she went ahead to tell our boss with my permission. I went back to office right after. It was the most embarrassing moment where I could not even look straight when I walked.

Little did I know, someone from the other cubicle heard me crying and informed the human resource dept. So great, now the HR knows. And the thing is they came to the toilet and saw me walking out and called my boss right away. Boss told them everything and they asked if I wanted to report. Of course not la. Not really a serious thing. And in the end the two guys came up and apologize to me. Although I knew they weren't sincere in their apology, I forgive them. Before they left. I told them in my unstable voice, to NEVER say anything like that to a girl anymore.

So what's the conclusion? Why do I find this post-worthy?

I believe there are many guys out there who are not careful at all with their choice of words. They may think it's funny, they may think it's nothing and like what the 2 guys came up to me and said "come on lah, we weren't serious", let me tell you, it IS serious. it IS hurtful. I actually told myself to believe that it isn't a big issue and I should just keep quiet and keep it to myself. But again and again my colleague reminded me that they need to learn that they can't do that anymore. Not to me. Not to anyone else! And yes! I am convinced. They need to learn and they need to change. So yes, if anyone has said anything that is really insensitive and hurtful, you should take action.

I am a happy girl now. :)

The past 2 months have been insanely horrible for me. Well, not exactly the whole of 2 months but  almost. I kept getting into accidents. Car accidents, falls, knocks, car problems etc. First was, I knocked someone's car from the back. That was because I was putting on my lipstick on the way to work and my eyes were fixed on the rear mirror, thinking the car in front of me started moving, I drove and knocked her. Thankful that she was a nice and polite lady and we exchanged numbers and then got everything fixed asap. Total cost was RM250. So settled.

Second was, 2 weeks after the car accident, my car tyre punctured. I was rushing to church that Sunday morning and my tyre was already flattened. Got it fixed after a few days with bf's help. Total cost was RM10. Settled.

Third, 2 weeks after the flat tyre, I experienced a fall. went to bf's sister's house, her dog ran out and I chased thinking that she will get hurt by other dogs coz she super tiny. Didn't see a puddle of water (leaked from the ceiling) and I slipped while running and i fell. Hit the left part of my body and got bruised. Left chest was in severe pain but after a few days and med I recovered from the aches. Settled.

Fourth was, on a Sunday morning when I was going to church, I saw a flat tyre. AGAIN!!! You don't know what sorta feelings I had inside. The anger would easily kill 10000 men! So yeah my dad helped me fix this time and found that there was a nail in my tyre. Ok, settled.

Now, fifth, I was driving back from work on a Wednesday night. driving pass my usual route. Suddenly a car from the left junction just decided to turn out. I couldn't brake in time and I went straight to the car. I knocked my chest on the steering wheel, thank God no big injury. But her car was wrecked badly until it couldn't move. mine was also quite bad. The accident caused the entire road to be jam and I was stuck there for more than an hour. This time, it's clearly not my fault at all. I was focused on driving. I did the best I could. If I were to avoid her, I'd go head on with the cars on the opposite lane. So yeah after 3 weeks only managed to send my car to the workshop because of all the procedures. *SIGH*

Yes, I went through a lot and it felt like hell, well at least for me. I was a bit angered that I had to go through these. But come to think of it, I think those experiences could actually help me in the future, I mean next time when things like that happen, I'd know what to do. And apart from this, I made a new friend from my fifth experience! How great is that?!

I think if I wasn't grateful and if I was only questioning God on how He would allow me to go through such situations, I'd probably be very angry inside. But because I was able to see the good in the bad, it's actually okay la, not that bad... However now that my car is in the workshop, (and it will be there for LONG.) my parents had to sacrifice the new car for me to use and they take the old one. Honestly everyday I feel so thankful that my parents are so sacrificial...

See! When I begin to be thankful in bad situations, eventually the situation won't be too bad one lah. So anyone reading this, remember to stay positive, be thankful even when life gives you poop.

Thank you for reading!
